So I have probably told everyone that once again we are celebrating Christmas in July. Why you ask? Because I can, and who is going to tell me no? Exactly!
So I got home from Trader Joe’s (where they did NOT have frozen risotto but did have “natural defatted peanut butter”) and Mom, Dad, and Jim were on the back porch having hot dogs for dinner (eating on the back porch is our new heaven on Earth) so I grab leftovers from Tuesday night (Veggie tortilla thing from Applebee’s and join them) while we are sitting there we are looking at the card that came in the mail to “the family of Joan Clark” – a sympathy card. Apparently it somehow got announced in church that mom died. She hasn’t for the record… But we got a sympathy card and while it is quite lovely how do I explain to its sender (and everyone else who thinks she is dead) that mom is indeed quite alive and feeling just fine thank you for asking? We had a few fun ideas the current favorite being mom wearing my wedding dress and going to their front door and knocking and when they come to the door have her shout Boo. Yeah in reality I am just going to walk over and explain but this is amusing to me. And on the same topic Katy comes walking in the door where I am in the kitchen reading the sympathy card and laughing so hard I am crying and her face DROPPED she thought granmaw was dead but I was laughing so hard I couldn’t explain that she wasn’t and it just got worse and worse thankfully I pushed her to the back door where mom was sitting playing crosswords with Jim.
Now back to Christmas, Mom got a present in the mail from the lovely and sweet beyond sweet Dawn and here is a picture of my very alive mom with her new stuffy that she has named Frank (why yes she knows the bunny is a girl) – There was a whole theory behind the name but really I brought it down to the woman has brain cancer and that is that!
Lastly tomorrow is Halloween and I hope to have some great pictures (and stories – I am sure there will be one about Christy having had too much to drink and the prank Jim is playing on her! I WANT TO BE ON THE RECORD AS HAVING SAID I DID NOT OKAY THIS PRANK!)
Have a great weekend, stay cool it’s supposed to be HOT!

Words to live by...
As most everyone knows I have been having a rough week or so... And when writing a great friend I said "I never thought life would be this hard" and the reply I got was beautiful and poignant and best of all TRUE!!!
"If life were easy, then you wouldn't need such awesome family and friends to get
through it and you would just be alone..."
So thanks to all my friends who have been here for me, I appreciate it and you more than you know!

And the winner is....
Marianne!
Chris picked the names out of the hat (well I don't have a hat but I do have a milk glass candy jar) and he picked Marianne, so shortly you will have a surprise of some sort in your mailbox I hope you like it :-)
On other news I never did mention that we went to Seussical the Musical, it was FANTASTIC... I highly recommend to anyone that you go see it! I am going to try to find the songs (I am thinking iTunes might be able to help me here!)
Here is a description and picture I found on the web
SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL CONTINUES AT THE BUCKS COUNTY PLAYHOUSE THRU SUNDAY, MAY 21 2006
The colorful world of Dr. Seuss comes alive on the Bucks County Playhouse stage when Seussical the Musical continues through Sunday, May 21, 2006.
“After all of those years being stuck on a page, did you ever imagine you’d see me on stage?” So asks the mischievous Cat in the Hat to begin the fantastical musical extravaganza that is Seussical. Seussical weaves together many of Dr. Seuss’ most famous stories and characters in unexpected ways with a score by the Tony Award winning team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.
Horton the Elephant is the soft-spoken hero in a magical world populated with many favorite Seuss characters — Yertle the Turtle, Gertrude McFuzz, Mayzie La Bird, the Cat in the Hat, the Grinch and his tiny Whos that Horton is determined to protect. Despite taunting, teasing and threats of imprisonment, Horton stubbornly sticks to what’s right. Dr. Seuss’ wonderful words transform into witty lyrics in this uplifting musical that insists, “A person’s a person no matter how small!”
In the cast of Seussical the Musical are several Playhouse favorites. Louis Palena will play The Cat in the Hat. Audiences know Louis from many roles over the years most notably the Emcee in Cabaret, Bobby Child in Crazy for You and Billy Lawlor in 42nd Street. Jill Palena will play Gertrude McFuzz and Tressa McCallister will play Mrs. Mayor. Both actresses were seen in many productions last season most notably in Hello, Dolly! where Tressa played Irene Malloy and Jill played Minnie Fay.
Seussical the Musical is filled with catchy songs and serves as the perfect way to introduce the younger set to the world of musical theatre. In true Seuss fashion, Seussical mixes as message in with all the fantabulous silliness. The musical embraces the joys of imagination along with celebrating those who dare to “color outside the lines”

And the correct answer is:
ZIP LINING!!!!
(names to be put in a hat and drawn out later today - PS where did I get such brilliant friends)
Somehow Jim managed to drag me up a mountain so I could jump down it over the course of two hours (Okay full disclosure I bought the tickets as a surprise for him) meanwhile he did say I was getting jewelry as a "Wow you are brave present" YAY whatever it takes to get jewelry - right?
Here are a few pictures:
Jim walking across tree top village
The view
"What was I thinking..."
"Son't worry I've got you"
Look how high up we are.
Now you may notice that there aren't any pictures of Jim other than the tree top village one, the reason for that is it is nearly impossible to take pictures with your eyes closed!
But here are a few pictures of the signs that I really liked
So true
Then I grew by leaps and bounds!!!!
Too cute - I can't find the picture of the other board at the registration building it said "let's get muddy!!!"

Vacation
Okay so I might have come back a few pounds heavier but I also came back MUCH more relaxed... *sigh
Evidence of relaxing:
And why I am a few pounds heavier:
The view from our room:
And one of the many crafts we did:
We also made bath salts (seen in the first relaxing picture)
Decoupage plates or frames
Potpourri gel jars
(Mom did not fall on her head though this picture makes it look like she might)
And lastly we did something that required us to look like this:
If you leave a guess in the comments section and guess it right I will put your name in a hat and pull someone's name out... I will send a surprise to that person :-)
