Daily Photo post #104
I really don't know what part of this picture is my favorite - my dog, his clothes, the fact that he let me put bows in his hair, or probably the true favorite the fact that he gets down low to play with leeeeetle dogs and plays so gentle.

Daily Photo post #96
Today I am lucky enough to be watching my niece Steffi compete in the division finals so she could go to Disney. I knew that I would be posting a picture of her and her team... I was wrong. In the midst of these kids who have practiced all year a team of 5 came out. They entered to silence with every single person in this arena on the edge of their seats hoping for success for this Rehobeth team. I wanted it for them even more than I wanted it for my own niece - the team was a special ed team. And they may have entered to silence but they left to a standing ovation. And in case you were wondering dozens of cheer teams make a LOT of noise when they are proud of some of their own!

Daily Photo post #93
On my way out to take dobby for his morning romp we heard noises all around us. I couldn't figure out what it was... It was sort of primal. Dobby heard it too... We both looked down and saw this - frost on the plants. The noise was the frozen plants popping warm in the morning sun.

How many times in life do you feel like you are just going around in circles? Well the next time you are stuck on your own personal carousel remember that someone else is probably on the outside thinking that you are a beautiful sight.

I have wanted and not wanted to write this post for over a week... Last Tuesday the amazing Brother Blue - Hugh Morgan Hill passed away. J and I went to his wake on Sunday... It truly was a celebration. His "daughter" Laura had these beautiful butterflies there for everyone to take and wear... I have worn mine since. It is just such a perfect tribute to the man, a man I adored and was in awe of. It sparkles, it demands your attention and it delivers you a pure beauty - much like Blue... I hope he rests in true peace. And I hope for those closest to him (Ruth, Laura, Kevin) a peace in knowing that the angels are listening to it "One. More. Time!"

Daily Photo post #86
I do admit it... I am a candle freak. But this one I lit this morning for a reason. So let me rewind a moment...
What is love? Is it flowers and candles and dates to the movies? Is it love notes and whispered nothings and inside jokes? Or is it defending someone no matter what you think of their opinion? Well over the years I would have answered yes to each of these... However recently I have seen a different show of love by many around me...
Jim who has woken up in the middle of the night because I had a rare nightmare and stayed up the rest of the night stroking my hair.
Dobby who would happily turn himself inside out to show me how much he loves me each and every time I walk into his presence.
And then finally in the most odd of places - Punkin who has finally decided that she loves us. She has been showing us in the oddest of ways - sleeping on the arm of the couch we are sitting on, purring in the middle of the night for no reason and recently bringing us presents... 4 days ago a mouse on the front walkway, 3 days ago a mouse on the back porch, and last night a beautiful bird in my hallway(!) (she brought it in through the dog door). As sweet a gift as any of the above because I know it means she is finally happy here and loves us. That said it has to stop so now I will work on that (taking ideas for sure).
But meanwhile I lit a candle for those sweet little sacrifices...

Ooooh found a new feature on my phone... You can make the pictures bluish, reddish, negative and this one which is called antique (sepia). It even makes a drive down salem street seem beautiful and surreal

Sometimes a girl needs some new bling... And today was one of those times for me. But I also wanted to keep to my budget. A trip to Pier 1 and a cool glass ring later crisis averted
And then I came home and joined Katie's giveaway!

Daily Photo post #78

The idea of ME having a go to recipe is laughable! But I have one. Well technically it isn't MY recipe it is Stephanie's but I use it ALL the time and after telling Kath about it today it was in my head and THEN I went to Market Basket and yellow tomatoes were on sale -- how much of a sign was that? So here you go, Jim will walk home to a yummy smelling house and tomato soup waiting for him

They're baaaaaaaack. Today I was at Homegoods and noticed how very many retro toys they're were. A slide whistle? Heck that's from my grandparents era. How cool my nieces and nephews will get to enjoy them too.
