1 thing down

My house has been driving me nuts lately...
There is just TOO MUCH STUFF in here. And lots and lots of "started projects" but not nearly as many finished projects (as I type this there are 3 fimo buttons sitting next to the keyboard all done and ready to go just need to bake them)
But tonight I finished one that has literally been on the floor in the hobby room waiting for 15 minutes of my time for the last oh... Month maybe 6 weeks.

Here is the rag rug (my own design and not anything I will ever make again it killed my hands and arms)

Also I wasted to show you all - - - - - - My first tomato!!!
I grew these from seed and I am so excited! There are lots more coming :-)

Here is the whole bush

And Mom's sandwich

And lastly here is a picture of the bread and potato bin that Jim made me. I love him and the thought but not so much loving the actual item... The style is TNMS and did you just hear me mention that I want to clear my house not add more into it!

Have a great night!

If you thought last week was bad...

It is 11:56 on Friday night this time so I better type fast (good thing we don't have dial-up anymore)

Sorry it's a short one but I was lost watching the Patriots... Who also lost!
GRRRRRR!

Anyway I figured I would give you a picture of the bouquet I made last weekend. (11:57) Sometimes I forget how much I like being a florist...
Anyway here it is (held by the lovely Jim):

And while we are talking of flowers look at this:
Found them at a farm stand they are as tall as I am!!!! And why you ask do I have an over 4 foot tall vase? Because it was the color palette for the living room (11:59)

Say it with me

AWWWWWWW! I got home from work last night and there was two packages for me.
1- a triptych of paintings I ordered for Jim for his birthday (I am done with him for both his birthday and Christmas!!!)
and
2- Something that says my full name, which is how I order off of eBay and although I didn't remember buying it was quite possible...

Well I was wrong it was an I love you present from Tricia! The most beautiful socks, that fit me like she kept my foot there and knitted them around it. AHHHHHH I love them! You can't see it from this picture but the have the most beautiful detail on the heal and the ankle. They are wonderful! THANK YOU TRICIA!

Have a great day, more tomorrow

In the nick of time...

I have promised myself I will update once a week... Well it might be 9:03 but I made it :-)

We have had the cutest visitor this last week.
I have named him George (I frequently name things George, Ralph or Henry - don't ask)

He comes for the apples.

Isn't he cute?

I admit to begging Jim to put a bucket of water out there for him - What I can't have a deer as a pet?

Look how easily he "disappears"

Cupcakes to celebrate mom's cancerversary - they held a double duty - I needed to take this picture for a swap I am in

Mom and one of her oldest and "DEEREST" (HAHAHAHAHA) friends!

Happy Halloween

So last Saturday was Halloween at the camp... It's always a great time, this year I was having so much fun I forgot ot drink :-0

Can you believe the one time a year I go out drinking I forget. Good thing I had Michelle's wedding!!!!

Anyway pictures are worth a thousand words and these definitely are wordy...

Please notice there are more adults dressed up than kids (they only get candy adults get shots-explains a lot huh?)

PS Jim did NOT forget to drink

Jim sets up the site (Jim wants you to know there was much much more than I am showing here)

Looks like there might have been an accident - although look there is colt Dracula on the top - Maybe this is his work

ARRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHH Who goes there?

I love this wizard, I finally figured out (this year) how an adult looks so short in it!

Tyler doesn't care too much for Halloween but loves the ice cream Aunty That brought!

Last night in review

So I have probably told everyone that once again we are celebrating Christmas in July. Why you ask? Because I can, and who is going to tell me no? Exactly!

So I got home from Trader Joe’s (where they did NOT have frozen risotto but did have “natural defatted peanut butter”) and Mom, Dad, and Jim were on the back porch having hot dogs for dinner (eating on the back porch is our new heaven on Earth) so I grab leftovers from Tuesday night (Veggie tortilla thing from Applebee’s and join them) while we are sitting there we are looking at the card that came in the mail to “the family of Joan Clark” – a sympathy card. Apparently it somehow got announced in church that mom died. She hasn’t for the record… But we got a sympathy card and while it is quite lovely how do I explain to its sender (and everyone else who thinks she is dead) that mom is indeed quite alive and feeling just fine thank you for asking? We had a few fun ideas the current favorite being mom wearing my wedding dress and going to their front door and knocking and when they come to the door have her shout Boo. Yeah in reality I am just going to walk over and explain but this is amusing to me. And on the same topic Katy comes walking in the door where I am in the kitchen reading the sympathy card and laughing so hard I am crying and her face DROPPED she thought granmaw was dead but I was laughing so hard I couldn’t explain that she wasn’t and it just got worse and worse thankfully I pushed her to the back door where mom was sitting playing crosswords with Jim.

Now back to Christmas, Mom got a present in the mail from the lovely and sweet beyond sweet Dawn and here is a picture of my very alive mom with her new stuffy that she has named Frank (why yes she knows the bunny is a girl) – There was a whole theory behind the name but really I brought it down to the woman has brain cancer and that is that!

Lastly tomorrow is Halloween and I hope to have some great pictures (and stories – I am sure there will be one about Christy having had too much to drink and the prank Jim is playing on her! I WANT TO BE ON THE RECORD AS HAVING SAID I DID NOT OKAY THIS PRANK!)

Have a great weekend, stay cool it’s supposed to be HOT!

Words to live by...

As most everyone knows I have been having a rough week or so... And when writing a great friend I said "I never thought life would be this hard" and the reply I got was beautiful and poignant and best of all TRUE!!!

"If life were easy, then you wouldn't need such awesome family and friends to get
through it and you would just be alone..."

So thanks to all my friends who have been here for me, I appreciate it and you more than you know!

And the winner is....

Marianne!

Chris picked the names out of the hat (well I don't have a hat but I do have a milk glass candy jar) and he picked Marianne, so shortly you will have a surprise of some sort in your mailbox I hope you like it :-)

On other news I never did mention that we went to Seussical the Musical, it was FANTASTIC... I highly recommend to anyone that you go see it! I am going to try to find the songs (I am thinking iTunes might be able to help me here!)

Here is a description and picture I found on the web

SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL CONTINUES AT THE BUCKS COUNTY PLAYHOUSE THRU SUNDAY, MAY 21 2006
The colorful world of Dr. Seuss comes alive on the Bucks County Playhouse stage when Seussical the Musical continues through Sunday, May 21, 2006.

“After all of those years being stuck on a page, did you ever imagine you’d see me on stage?” So asks the mischievous Cat in the Hat to begin the fantastical musical extravaganza that is Seussical. Seussical weaves together many of Dr. Seuss’ most famous stories and characters in unexpected ways with a score by the Tony Award winning team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.

Horton the Elephant is the soft-spoken hero in a magical world populated with many favorite Seuss characters — Yertle the Turtle, Gertrude McFuzz, Mayzie La Bird, the Cat in the Hat, the Grinch and his tiny Whos that Horton is determined to protect. Despite taunting, teasing and threats of imprisonment, Horton stubbornly sticks to what’s right. Dr. Seuss’ wonderful words transform into witty lyrics in this uplifting musical that insists, “A person’s a person no matter how small!”

In the cast of Seussical the Musical are several Playhouse favorites. Louis Palena will play The Cat in the Hat. Audiences know Louis from many roles over the years most notably the Emcee in Cabaret, Bobby Child in Crazy for You and Billy Lawlor in 42nd Street. Jill Palena will play Gertrude McFuzz and Tressa McCallister will play Mrs. Mayor. Both actresses were seen in many productions last season most notably in Hello, Dolly! where Tressa played Irene Malloy and Jill played Minnie Fay.

Seussical the Musical is filled with catchy songs and serves as the perfect way to introduce the younger set to the world of musical theatre. In true Seuss fashion, Seussical mixes as message in with all the fantabulous silliness. The musical embraces the joys of imagination along with celebrating those who dare to “color outside the lines”

And the correct answer is:

ZIP LINING!!!!
(names to be put in a hat and drawn out later today - PS where did I get such brilliant friends)

Somehow Jim managed to drag me up a mountain so I could jump down it over the course of two hours (Okay full disclosure I bought the tickets as a surprise for him) meanwhile he did say I was getting jewelry as a "Wow you are brave present" YAY whatever it takes to get jewelry - right?

Here are a few pictures:

Jim walking across tree top village

The view

"What was I thinking..."

"Son't worry I've got you"

Look how high up we are.

Now you may notice that there aren't any pictures of Jim other than the tree top village one, the reason for that is it is nearly impossible to take pictures with your eyes closed!

But here are a few pictures of the signs that I really liked

So true

Then I grew by leaps and bounds!!!!

Too cute - I can't find the picture of the other board at the registration building it said "let's get muddy!!!"

Vacation

Okay so I might have come back a few pounds heavier but I also came back MUCH more relaxed... *sigh
Evidence of relaxing:

And why I am a few pounds heavier:

The view from our room:

And one of the many crafts we did:
We also made bath salts (seen in the first relaxing picture)
Decoupage plates or frames
Potpourri gel jars

(Mom did not fall on her head though this picture makes it look like she might)

And lastly we did something that required us to look like this:

If you leave a guess in the comments section and guess it right I will put your name in a hat and pull someone's name out... I will send a surprise to that person :-)

Did I mention I was going on vacation?
I am SO excited!
We are headed up to Lincoln NH for a week of fun and relaxation... I plan on spending a lot of the time in the hot tub and relaxing... Jim got me (what I hope is) a good book, and I am bringing a few crafts (just ones that are fun not any that are work), we have out kayaks and I am bringing my favorite (okay okay only) running shoes. Annie is going to look after the horses while I am gone and Cheryl is taking care of the cats and fish, and the in laws are taking the dog... Ahhhhh sweet vacation!
We will be looking at sights like this:

And eating here:

And playing mini golf here:

And this is the view from where we are staying:

I. can. not. wait.
I will chat with you all in a week and if you need me before then just call - I don't think I have that fandangled interweb stuff up there...

All Hallows Eve is coming...

Adult style :-)

July 28th is the date this year. This is one of my favorite holidays of the year (can you call it a holiday if there is nothing holy about it and it's 6 months wrong? Well I am! We are talking about the one time a year that everybody kind of lets their fences down and just has fun... And did I mention it is adult trick or treating (well children too but theirs ends earlier) and the treats are shots of many sorts... I can't wait to have spiked watermelon (Erin you can have my jello shots) and I have learned to love pudding shots (holy cow how good can a drink be?)

Anyway we (somehow I talked Erin into coming - HUGS) are going to have a great time and it will be a good time... Ohhh Erin did I mention there is a contest for best costume by age group... Last year it was won by a man and a dwarf (is that politically correct?) who dressed up as something from Austin Powers and "mini me"... My mom won two years ago dressed up as a hershey bar because she called herself a third of a s'more... I am always some sort of butterfly...

Anyway that is all for today!

My latest project (and cancer hats too)

So my latest project was for a swap that I am in on swap-bot.com

It was called give and recieve the theory was that someone would send me something (whatever they wanted) and I would have to make something out of it. Well I sent yarn and buttons and got back the CUTEST stuffed horse with buttone for eyes and yarn for a mane and tail...
And I was sent fabric! Yeah what do I do with fabric? I cut it into strips and am making a rag rug. There is no sewing involved (well since I can't sew I really think that the no sewing was important - though someday Erin if you like sewing again will you teach me?) The rug is crocheted and is pretty easy though time consuming and it hurts my hands to make. When it's done I will post a picture for you all to see...

And as for cancer hats while I was at MGH yesterday (national cancer survivors day FYI) I learned that last year the cancer trees were taken down the earliest they have ever been taken down because there was less hats donated than any other year. So I am renewed in my efforts to make tons and tons of hats... When I finish I will take a picture of the mountain of hats I am sure it will be!

Have a great weekend everyone!

My interview

Question: What do you consider to be the most important quality in a person?
Hmmmmm that is a tie for me between honesty and kindness...

Question: What is the last thing you do before you got to bed at night?
Roll over and cuddle Jim - I can't fall asleep without laying on him

Question: Describe the perfect day.
Crafting with some friends in the day and then just hanging out with Jim and maybe playing games. That would be fun!

Question: Would you vote for a woman President?
Sure why not, if she was the best person for the job.

Here are the rules to post on your entry:
1. Leave me a comment saying "Interview me."
2. I will respond by emailing you four questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them four questions

As a side note I would like to let you all know that the shrimpies are very happy in their new home and show their happiness by amusing me all day long!

My newest little friends...

So yesterday was a great birthday!
Mom's head scans came back clear for cancer growth but the odd actingness does have a cause there is a good amount of swelling on her brain... Silly girl doesn't she know not to let her brain swell! Well anyway meds adjusted and she will be fine :-)
Then I went to work and the system was down so I was able to get some "other stuff" done that I have wanted to do for a while. THEN I went to Marianne's house and had a lovely dinner. AND although she did give me a present (which is so against all the rules) she did it in just the right way. "Ohhhh by the way that eco-system over on the table is for you" said while she was cooking dinner. No pressure... AND I even happy danced! Then I promptly named them! They are Gemma, Resty, Duffy, and Paul...
They are SO cute and I love them so much... So introducing my newest little friends in their ultra cool home!
